Skoch Digital Inclusion Awards 2014 Methodology is as follows:
1. Selected Projects will be called for evaluation presentation between 20th and 23th August 2014 or later at New Delhi.
2. A merit list of Top National Projects will be released by 5th September 2014.
3. Merit listed projects will be showcased and will receive Skoch Order-of-Merit certificates in New Delhi on 19th September 2014.
4. Finalists will be chosen from among the merit listed projects. Skoch Smart Governance Awards to be conferred on 20th September
2014 in New Delhi.
5. Attendance during the evaluation presentation and 37th Skoch Summit is desired to qualify for the Award.

Digital Inclusion Awards 2014

Skoch Digital Inclusion Award is an initiative to recognise the e-Goverance initiatives of the Central Government, State, Local Governments, their various departments and undertakings, and their technology and solution providers in both the government and corporate sector. These Awards recognise the best applications of technology in the various sectors of governance.

The nominated government and organisations, which have taken an integrated approach to e-Governance by deployment of technology across sectors and have brought sustainable and significant benefits to the citizens and economy, can apply.

These projects should have benefitted a large percentage of the target audience, should have been cost effective, should have simplified governance and supported better decision making for administrators and policy makers. These solutions should have a clear roadmap for increase in coverage across sectors and target audience, integration with other applications, to meet changing needs and for up gradation to newer technologies.

SMART CITY SAFE CITY AWARDS 2014

Skoch Smart City, Safe City Award is an initiative to recognise the efforts of the cities and organisations for their work in improving the quality of life it’s citizens. The award recognises the best practices and models in the area of civic services, e-governance, urban planning and development, infrastructure, housing, technology deployment, public participation, disaster management, public safety and security, social equity, environment and sustainability.

Those who have delivered sustainable results in defined area(s) of city management can be considered for the award. The nominated projects and practices should be innovative, measurable and should have brought about a significant improvement in the issues and challenges faced by the citizens. These initiatives should be tuned to local conditions, should be scalable to meet the needs of the growing population & changing demography and should be able to adapt to changing conditions of the city. These practices should ensure fair and equitable benefits to the various socio-economic and cultural groups.

SMART GOVERNANCE AWARDS 2014

Skoch Smart Governance Award is an initiative recognising top performing government organisations and organisations working with the government, operating at local, state and national level in the area of Health, Education, Rural Development/Panchayati Raj, Urban Development, Finance, and Security. It is a step towards recognising the best practices and models of governance for excellent and efficient implementation of programmes and services delivery.

Those organisations, which operate at a local, state or national level using efficient and sustainable governance practices can be considered for this Award. Organisations offering best governance practices in an ecologically and socioculturally sustainable way are requested to send their nominations. The organisations should demonstrate innovation in its governance practices adequately responding to local conditions. The governance model should be conducive for effective decision-making, problem solving, disputes and conflict management, and actively produce measurable results in addressing key felt-needs and challenges. The organisation’s governance practices also should have the ability to adapt to future challenges and changing circumstances.
