-Eucalyptus Cloud
The project aims at implementation of Infrastructureas-
a-Service (IaaS) using Eucalyptus Cloud for
remote provisioning of e-governance applications
over the existing NICNET, NIC network. Implemented
nationwide, it connects different Data Centres of NIC.
Already completed in about 10 locations, it enables
Virtual Servers being created on demand by remote
users located in rural areas. The key benefit is huge
savings in expenditure for procurement, installation
and deployment of Servers in remote rural areas of
India. It is possible now to access Virtual Servers
through the existing client systems including the
handheld devices like Palmtops.
